Mommy
Week 25 on your
pregnancy calendar
may be bringing about some uncomfortable
symptoms
: namely, hemorrhoids! More than half of all pregnant women will experience this. The swollen, itchy veins in the rectum are caused by your growing uterus pressing down. The added blood flow is not helping either. If you haven't developed them, try to diminish your chances by not straining so much when you go to the bathroom! Eating a
diet
high in fiber can help to off-set this.
Keep your teeth and gums healthy! Research has suggested that gingivitis (inflamed, bleeding gums) and periodontitis (an infection in the teeth) are linked to premature birth. Brush your teeth and floss twice a day.
Baby
Your baby is about 9 inches long and weighs about 1.5 pounds!
Air sacs will develop in the lungs and the nostrils start to open.
Capillaries are forming and filling with blood, and the vocal cords are getting ready for that scream-fest he or she will likely have after birth!
The structures of the spine start forming - 33 rings, 150 joints and 1000 ligaments!
Every week gets more and more exciting!
Share your personal story with us, and we'll feature it on our site! Others may benefit from listening to the voice of experience - and you may learn from other women's experiences as well!
