Mommy
This is it! You've reached the end of the
pregnancy daily calendar
!
Remember that your due date is only an estimate. Most births don't take place on the exact
due date
. Babies can be born at full-term any time between weeks 38 and 42 (yes, 42!).
Your health care practitioner won't let you go beyond week 41 or 42. He or she will recommend being induced if the pregnancy has gone on long enough.
If you're waiting for your water to break before you go into
labor
, just remember that it is more common NOT to have your water break before labor. More often, the water must be broken by the doctor. If your water does break, the baby must be born within 24 hours in order to reduce the risk of infection.
Baby
Your baby weighs approximately 6-9 pounds (he or should obviously could weigh more or less - this is just an average).
The calendar may suggest that your pregnancy is now over, but your body - or your baby - will tell you when it's time! Good luck!
Share your personal story with us, and we'll feature it on our site! Others may benefit from listening to the voice of experience - and you may learn from other women's experiences as well!
