Week 15 of your
pregnancy stages
may look a little something like this....
Mommy
At this stage of pregnancy, you may start needing maternity clothes if you've been fighting it up to now! Your uterus is rising, and can be felt about 3 or 4 inches below your navel.
At your prenatal visits, your health care practitioner will be measuring "fundal height", which is the distance between the top of the uterus to the pubic bone. Measuring this distance shows if the baby is growing consistently and adequately.
Baby
Your baby weighs about 7 grams now! The bones are getting harder every day.
The skin is very thin, and almost transparent. You can actually see the blood vessels through the skin.
Your baby may actually start sucking his or her thumb at this point!
Very fine hair will be covering the baby's body (called "lanugo"), and will continue to grow until the baby is about 6 months gestation. The hair pattern on the baby's scalp is also developing.
Your pregnancy week by week is becoming more and more real as your belly - and baby - grows!
