Week 19 of your pregnancy week by week guide is actually 16 weeks after conception.
Mommy
You may be getting very itchy in places where your skin is stretching - ie. around your belly, lower back and inner thighs. Use creams and oils to counter this dry, itchy sensation. Many women swear by cocoa butter. Try to stay well hydrated by drinking lots of water.
You may also be experiencing many skin changes, such as blotchy patches on your face, dry and flaky patches, or even rashes. These conditions should all go away after delivery at the latest.
Leg cramps, particularly in your calves, may start to creep in by now. This is pretty common, and even more common at night.
Baby
Your baby is around 6 inches long and weighs about 1/2 a pound! He or she is growing rapidly.
The baby is now protected with a coating called vernix caseosa, which looks like a white cheesy substance. This protects the skin from the surrounding amniotic fluid. This should go away at birth, but sometimes a little bit of the coating will still be on the baby at birth.
